After many years on the road with various punk rock bands, Al decided to go solo and create a new acoustic project that combines punk rock roots, a touch of Americana, and the art of storytelling: Red At Night.
Empty Seat was the first album released by RAN through Indelirium Records in February 2023. Later that year, he released two more singles — the sing-along Long Road Ahead in October and the darker Yellow Shoes in December.
In June 2024, the upbeat single Ferris Wheel was released as a preview of a new EP, which came out in September 2024 — once again on vinyl via Indelirium Records, in collaboration with Ring Of Fire Records.
To promote the new release, RAN crossed the ocean to tour the United States for the first time with a ten-date run, followed by a two-week European tour in October 2024. In 2025, RAN spent four weeks touring across Europe and another four in the U.S., along with several weekend shows in Germany and the Czech Republic.
To close the year on a high note, Red At Night hit the road with Billy Liar & The Haunted Hearts and Lenny Lashley for an eight shows run across Germany, Austria, and Czech Republic. The last show of 2025 was an energetic performace at Wild At Heart in Berlin opening for Maid of Ace.
In early 2026, Red At Night expanded into a full high-energy band, while keeping the solo acoustic format alive. Today, RAN moves freely between intimate solo acoustic shows and loud, fast-paced full-band performances — two sides of the same project.
In less than three years since the debut release, Red At Night has toured Europe four times and the U.S. twice, playing 150+ shows across eleven countries.
